Sunday Walk: Blue Heron Park and Horth Hill

Starts at 1400; family, friends and dogs welcome!

We’ll be starting the Sunday hikes a bit earlier than normal this year – just to see if there’s any enthusiasm for getting a bit of exercise before Thanksgiving!  In the past we’ve always started the hikes on the Sunday after Thanksgiving but we thought we’d try starting on September 30^th.  Many will be away on the ‘Pre-Thanksgiving Cruise’ but, nevertheless, we’ll give it a go!

On September 30^th we’ll start at 1400 the Blue Heron Park’s parking lot (that’s the road that leads into the soccer fields), off MacDonald Park Road near the apartment blocks that are under construction.  It’ll be a two-booter taking us through MacDonald Park and over to Horth Hill and back.  Most of the walk will be on flat trails or quiet roads but there will be a couple of uppy bits.  We’ll stop by and visit with the donkey that lives at the top of Hedgerow Drive.  And, of course, we’ll be able to go the bar for a bit of a pick-me-up after the walk!
