An Artist Afloat!
Next week’s Speakers’ Series features a local artist who is also a long distance sailor. While many sailors take a camera to record their adventures, Artist Andrea England carries a sketch book and watercolours instead! Join Andrea and her husband, Jim Shortreed, on a creative voyage from New Zealand to Canada, and find out how a pen and paper creates a unique record of the adventures (and misadventures) of living aboard a cruising sailboat heading the wrong way across the Pacific Ocean. Andrea will share sketches and paintings from their journey and will also have greeting cards available for $5.
If you want to take part in Chef Rico’s great buffet please phone 250 656 4600 and let us know at least a day before the event (that way, Rico can get the right amount of food ready). The buffet costs $30, which covers taxes and gratuities, and starts at 1800.
If you just want to take in the great presentation then be sure to get to the club around 1905.
