Are you ready to take your sailing to the next level? Join the SNSYC Race Team and become part of a dynamic team dedicated to competitive sailing, skill development, and camaraderie!
We offer a comprehensive program designed to challenge and support athletes who are passionate about pushing their limits on the water. Join our racing community and experience the excitement of dinghy racing year-round!
Who Can Join?
Our Race Team is open to aspiring and experienced sailors who meet the following criteria:

Minimum CANSail 2 Certification: Participants must have successfully completed CANSail 2 (or equivalent) to ensure a foundational understanding of sailing and safety.

Manager Approval: Sailors who do not have CANSail 2 but demonstrate strong potential and commitment may be eligible to join with approval from our Sailing School Manager. Please contact us to discuss this option.
Our Fleet
We train and race in a variety of dinghy classes, providing diverse opportunities for skill development:

420s: For double-handed racing, focusing on teamwork and advanced boat handling.

ILCA (formerly Laser): For single-handed racing, emphasizing individual boat speed and tactical prowess.

Optimist: Our foundation class for younger sailors, building essential racing fundamentals.
Training Schedule
Commitment and consistent practice are key to success. Our Race Team trains twice a week, year-round, ensuring continuous development and preparation for regattas.

Our comprehensive training covers everything from advanced boat handling and speed drills to race strategy, rules, and mental preparation.
We strive to attend many local, provincial, and national regattas
